Testing the PeerMaster Adapter
Before installing your LAN software, verify the proper configuration
and operation of your PeerMaster adapter by running the adapter
test program. See “Testing the Computer” on page 167 for
information on testing adapters.
To run the test program:
1. Insert the Reference Diskette in the primary diskette drive
(usually drive A).
2. Turn on the server.
3. When the Main Menu appears, select Test the computer.
4. Select Option diagnostics; then press Enter. When prompted,
remove the Reference Diskette and insert the Micro Channel
Diagnostic Diskette.
5. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
The results appear as follows:
If the diagnostic test is successful, you will get a message that
the tests are completed.
If the test is not successful, a dialog box will display an error
message and an error number. See “Diagnostic and Setup Error
Messages” on page 344 for a list of error numbers and possible
corrective actions. You might have a hardware failure of your
PeerMaster adapter, an installation error, or a system conflict.
When the diagnostic program successfully completes, your adapter
is properly configured and operational. Continue with “Installing
the PeerMaster LAN Software” on page 35.
