Audio Line Out: Use this jack to send audio signals from the computer to
external devices, such as stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers, multimedia
keyboards, or the line-in receptacle of your stereo system.

Audio Line In:
Use this jack to send audio signals from an external device
(such as a CD player or stereo) to your computer so that the signals can be
recorded on the hard disk.

Headphone: Use this jack to connect headphones or small bookshelf speakers
to your computer. The speakers must have built-in amplifiers). If headphones
are inserted in the jack, the computer built-in speaker is muted (except for
system beeps).

Microphone: Use this jack to connect a microphone to your PC so that you can
record your voice or other sounds on the hard disk. This jack can also be used
by speech recognition software.
Your computer also has a volume control dial that adjusts the sound level for the
