9. Remove the four screws that secure the drive cage and PCI support cage to
the chassis and set the screws in a safe place.
Important: When the screws are removed, the drive cage is not secure.
10. Disengage the two alignment pins on the drive cage from the chassis and the
PCI support cage.
11. Pull the drive cage away from the chassis and carefully set it on a clean work
surface.
Important: When the drive cage is removed from the chassis, the PCI support
cage is not secure.
12. Remove the PCI support cage from the chassis and set it aside.
13. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
14. Slide the speaker out of the retaining hooks on the chassis and remove it from
the computer, making sure that the cable follows freely.
Replacing the speaker
To install the speaker, complete the following steps.
Note: When installing the drive cage, it might be easier to insert the top alignment
pin into the chassis first; then, slightly tilt the PCI support cage to insert the bottom
alignment pin.
1. Touch the static-protective package containing the speaker to any unpainted
metal surface on the computer. Then, remove the speaker from the package.
2. Slide the speaker down onto the retaining hooks on the chassis and connect
the speaker cable to the system board.
3. Place the PCI support cage into the chassis. Make sure that the speaker, front
fan, and intrusion switch cables are routed above the bottom plate of the PCI
support cage.
4. Loosely attach the PCI support cage using the three screws closest to the
bottom of the chassis (do not tighten them completely).
5. Install the drive cage in its upright position.
a. Position the drive cage above the side of the computer with the drive
connectors pointing outward.
b. Insert the lower drive cage alignment pin into the corresponding hole in the
PCI support cage.
