1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 79.
2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices.
3. Disconnect all external cables and power cords; then, remove the side cover
(see “Removing the side cover” on page 81)
4. Remove the support bracket (see “Removing the support bracket” on page 83).
5. Remove the air baffle.
a. Lift up on the large end of the air baffle until it releases.
b. Slide the air baffle toward the front of the computer; then, lift it out of the
computer.
6. Disconnect the fan sink cable, noting its location.
7. Disconnect any cables that impede access to the microprocessor.
8. Loosen the two captive screws (in the leaf spring enclosures) on either side of
the fan sink.
