This
IBM

Eserver
BladeCenter
™
T
Management
Module
Installation
Guide
contains
information
about
installing
and
configuring
the
management
module.
Note:
The
illustrations
in
this
document
might
differ
slightly
from
your
hardware.

documents.
The
management
module
is
one
of
two
management
modules
that
can
be
installed
in
the
IBM
Eserver
BladeCenter
T
Type
8720
or
8730
enclosure.
Only
one
management
module
can
be
active;
the
second
management
module,
if
present,
provides
redundancy.
You
can
obtain
up-to-date
information
about
your
management
module
and
other
IBM
server
products
at

information
about
the
management
module
in
the
following
table.

top
center

BladeCenter

You
will
need
this
information
when
you
register
your
BladeCenter
T
Management
Module
with
IBM.
The
media
access
control
(MAC)
address
is
on
a
label
at
the
front
of
the
management
module.
See
for
an
illustration
that
shows
the
location
of
the
identification
label.
The
management
module
functions
as
a
service
processor
for
the
multiple
blade
servers
in
a
BladeCenter
T
unit.
You
configure
the
BladeCenter
T
unit
and
modules
through
the
management
module,
configuring
information
such
as
the
management-module
and
I/O-module
IP
addresses.
The
management
module
also
performs
USB-to-PS/2
®
conversions
for
the
system
keyboard
and
mouse
and
can
send
the
VGA
data
stream
to
a
remote
console
for
viewing.
