TOTAL WEIGHT
Click the center button, then use top/bottom/left/right arrows to enter the total weight of
bike + rider + gear. Click the center button to accept; “done” flashes
ERAS(E) DATA
This function erases the ride file data stored in your Newton. Click the center button; “no”
flashes. To erase, click top/down arrow to select “yes” then click center button to confirm.
The Newton display will say “data erase” while data is erased, then flash “done”

: YOU’LL GET WARNING MESSAGES WHEN YOUR RIDE MEMORY IS NEAR CAPACITY
(80% and 90%). IF YOUR RIDE MEMORY FILLS TO 100% DURING A RIDE YOUR NEWTON
WILL CONTINUE TO FUNCTION BUT YOU’LL LOSE THE RIDE DATA FOR THAT RIDE.
TSS ON/OFF
The Newton incorporates special measurements to help serious cyclists improve their
training. These three measurements, called Training Stress score (TSS
TM
), Intensity Factor
(IF
TM
), and Normalized Power (NP
TM
) are described on in Appendix 2, pages 44-46.
Normally, TSS, IF and NP measurements are not visible in the Newton’s Totals screen
(“TSS OFF”). If you’d like to see them, then do click the center button; the bottom screen
flashes. Use the up arrow to select YES, then click the center button to accept. “done”
flashes.
CDA ON/OFF (Wind tunnel)
CdA is an important aerodynamic measurement. You can read about CdA measurements in
the “CdA Instructions”, available separately through the Help menu of ISAAC.
To see CdA measurement on the bottom window of your Newton power screen click the
center button; the bottom screen flashes. To turn CDA on select “ON” with the up arrow.
If you don’t want to see CdA measurements on your Newton click the up arrow to select.
Click the center button; “done” flashes.
CAD(ENCE) ON/OFF
Cadence is shown in the bottom window of the Power screen. The default setting is “on”.
If you don’t want to see cadence, click the center button, select “off” with the up/down
arrow, then click the center button to accept.
OFF/ON AUTO DISP (Auto Display)
When using the up/down/left/right arrows on the main screens to get to alternate screens,
if Auto Disp is set to Yes, then the main screen automatically returns after 4 seconds of
displaying of the alternate screen. To prevent automatic return to the main screen, click
the center button, use up/down arrows to set AUTO DISP to Off, then click the center
button to accept.
