Method
Transmit-to-Deviation
1. Connect the antenna connector of the radio to HP8921, and set HP8921
to TX test mode.
2. Set the HP8921 parameters as follows:
IF Filter: 230 kHz
Filter1: <20 Hz HPF
Filter2: <15 kHz LPF
De-Emphasis: OFF
3. Open the Tuner software and go to “TUNE_DATA -> TX ->
Transmit-to-Deviation”
in
the left navigation tree. Then click the
“Transmit On” button.
4. Observe the frequency deviation displayed on HP8921, and adjust the
vernier on Tuner until the frequency deviation is
4.3k±50 Hz
.
5. Click the “Transmit Off” button.
Modulation Balance
1. Connect the antenna connector of the radio to HP8921, and set HP8921
to TX test mode.
2. Set the HP8921 parameters as follows:
IF Filter: 230 kHz
Filter1: <20 Hz HPF
Filter2: <15 kHz LPF
De-Emphasis: OFF
AFGen1 Freq: OFF
AFGen Lv1: 15.5 mV
3. Open the Tuner software and go to “TUNE_DATA -> TX -> Modulation
Balance”
in
the left navigation tree. Then select an appropriate
channel and click the dialog box below HI_PORT.
4. Click the “Transmit On” button.
5. Observe the frequency deviation displayed on HP8921, and adjust the
value in the dialog box on Tuner until the frequency deviation is
5k±50
Hz
.
6. Press the
Enter
key on the keyboard to confirm your settings if the value
