Guardrails

Movable Guardrails

To ensure the safety of workers in a more fl exible way, movable guardrails may be installed 
on bridges. Install standard guardrails and secure the movable guardrail to the standard 
guardrails with toggle pins (as shown in fi g. 7.10). Refer to p. 91 for instructions on 
the installation of standard guardrails. The small section of the movable guardrail (“

B

” in 

fi g. 7.10) can be installed at either end of the main section (“

A

” in fi g. 7.10).

WARNING

A movable guardrail cannot be used as a tie-off point. 

The universal plank safety support is installed at the extremities of planking to prevent 
planks from lifting, tipping and slipping.
