CLEANING:
Clean every 6 months or after using mineralized or salt water exposure or use.
Follow these simple steps before you leave home, and
then clean at least every six months or when you use well, salt, lake or river
water.
Flushing the Heater System:
Failing to do so can void the warranty.
It is essential to run clean fresh water through the system immediately upon using salt or mineralized water such as
well water, lake or river water. Simply insert the blue (or green) inflow hose into clean water source such as a bucket, or
water container and run pump for 3 mins or approximately 5 gallons.
Alternatively, a garden hose connected to home water can be used.
Note on Salt Water Use:
DO NOT let the heater sit or be stored without flushing after salt water use.
Flush immediately after use.
Savu’s limited warranty does not cover damage of heater caused by salt water corrosion or corrosion from
mineralized water.
You will be safe to use salt, lake or river water ONLY if you following these guidelines.
Flush after each Use. Then clean with the below instructions within 48 hours.
Cleaning instructions:
1.
In a clean container mix two-gallons of water with12 oz. of calcium, lime, and rust remover (available at the cleaner
section of hardware, general merchandiseand food stores).
2.
Place the inflow hose in the container with the water/solution.
3.
Position the outflow hose in teh container with the water/solution so that it is recirculating system.
4. With gas connected, push on / off switch and turn the control unit to a “warm” setting.
5.
Circulate the water/solution through the water heater for 2 minutes, then turn off heater by turning the knob
clockwise to the “off” position. (Fig. 5)
6. Dispose of the cleaning solution in a sink or other drain, do not dump on the ground.
7.
Fill container with 2 1/2 gallons of clean water.
