The respective applicable national, local and system-specific provisions and require-
ments must be paid attention to and mediated.
It is mandatory for the operator to inform personnel on special operating features and
requirements.
The personnel instructed to work with the measuring system must have read and un-
derstood the user manual, especially the

, prior to com-
mencing work.
2.4.
General risks when using the product
The measurement system has been manufactured in accordance with the current state of
the art and recognised safety regulations. Nevertheless, improper use can pose a danger to
life and limb of the user or third parties, or lead to impairment of the measurement system
or other property!
Only use the measuring system in a technically acceptable state, and only for its designated
use, taking safety and hazard aspects into consideration, and paying attention to the user
manual! Especially faults which could threaten operational safety should be eliminated wit-
hout delay!
2.5.
Safety Information
Destruction, damage and/or malfunctions of the measuring system can be avoided by ad-
herence to the following points:
Wiring, opening and closing of electrical connections must be carried out in de-ener-
gized condition only!
Do not carry out welding if the measuring system has already been wired up or is swit-
ched on.
Ensure that the area around the assembly site is protected from corrosive fluids (acid,
etc.).
Avoid any shocks (e.g. hammer-blow) on the measuring system while mounting.
The measuring system contains electrostatically endangered circuit elements and units
which can be destroyed by improper use.
Touching the measuring system connection contacts with bare fingers
must be avoided. When handling the measuring system, the ESD protec-
tive measures must absolutely be adhered to.

Transportation, Packaging, Storage
3.1.
Transportation
The HIT 1x00 is supplied in a cardboard box.
When taking delivery and when unpacking the unit, check it for possible transit damage and
report any damage to the carrier immediately.
