ENGINE OVERHAUL
pIstON REmOVAL
1. Remove:
• Piston pin clips "1"
• Piston pin "2"
• Piston "3"
(see fig. 47)
WARNING!
do not use a hammer to remove the piston pin. •
• Before removing the piston pin clip, cover the opening of the
crankcase with a clean cloth to avoid the piston pin clip from
falling into the crankcase.
2. Remove:
• Upper piston ring
• Lower piston ring
• Scraper ring
• To remove a piston ring, widen with your fingers the space
between the ends and lift the other side of the piston ring
above the piston crown.
