7 Repairs
7.2.2 Assembling the starter assembly
1.
Place the spring over the starter assembly with
the spring cover and push the spring into the
starter assembly with a pair of pliers. Let the
spring loosen in the starter assembly. Hold your
thumb firmly against it.

Roll up the cord on the cord wheel. Leave three
turns of the starter cord unrolled so that the spring
can be tightened afterward.
3.
Grease the wheel axle. Use universal grease,
article number 502 51 27-01.
4.
Assemble the cord wheel and screw it firmly onto
the axle.
5.
Tighten the spring by winding three turns of the
cord onto the cord wheel's groove. Check to see
that the knot attached to the cord wheel can pass
through the cord opening by half a turn. If the knot
cannot pass the opening, the spring could touch
the bottom of the starter assembly and damage
the blower.
6.
Fasten the four screws of the starter assembly.
