8) MAINTENANCE, ADJUSTMENT, REPAIRS AND CLEANING
8.1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Always check the electric scooter before each ride!
Regular maintenance guarantees a long service life of the electric scooter. Maintenance includes cleaning, lubrication and
proper adjustment of all components. At the same time, regular prescribed maintenance is a condition for claiming the warranty.
Always keep the electric scooter and all its components clean. Use only recommended and tested cleaning materials. If you
use an electric scooter in winter, clean it of salt after each ride. Check that all bolts and nuts, especially the rear wheel centre
nuts, are properly tightened. Use only original spare parts. If necessary, contact the nearest authorized service workshop or the
HUGO Bike manufacturer directly.
We recommend that the following service tasks be performed at regular intervals.
8.1.1. TIGHTENING
Proper tightening of all fasteners used on the electric scooter. Poor tightening may cause part of the scooter to come loose while
riding (resulting in a fall and injury). On the contrary, if the tightening is too strong, there is a risk of damage to the fastening
elements (thread pulling deformation of the screw, violation of the integrity of the material, etc.).
8.1.2. REALASED PARTS
Make sure that no part of electric scooter is loose. Raise the front wheel 5-7 cm above the ground, release it and let it bounce off
the ground. If any part seems loose (also by sound, speed, sight, …), carry out a detailed inspection of the entire electric scooter
and fasten everything that is loose.
