3.1.5 Conference Joining
Initiating a Conference
Without advanced scheduling or assistance from the administrator, a user can initiate a
conference from the TP3106-70 using any of the following methods:
Contacts list
Keypad
Conference history
The conference initiated by any user can be a point-to-point or multipoint conference.
Joining a Conference
The TP3106-70 can be scheduled to join a conference on the SMC. When the schedule is
made, a user can find the conference entry on the touch panel. If the conference is ongoing,
the user can join it at the touch of a button.
To join an authentication conference, a user asks the administrator for the conference ID and
password and joins the conference from the touch panel home screen.
Answering a Call
The TP3106-70 joins a conference after answering a call from another site. A user can
configure the TP3106-70 to answer incoming calls automatically or to prompt for a manual
response.
If the TP3106-70 is configured to answer incoming calls automatically, it joins a
conference after a call comes in.
If the TP3106-70 is configured to prompt for a manual response, a user can choose to
answer or reject calls.

Customizing the Conference Control List
Users can customize the conference controls to be displayed in the conference control list on
the touch panel, as shown in Figure 3-1.
