System management plane: It provides equipment and service management functions.

Service control plane: It consists of voice control and IP control sub-planes. The service
control plane is the core module that provides the service functions such as:

System Control and Uplink Module
This module consists of the MCUA board and the related board software. It provides the
following functions:

Managing the xDSL service and multicast service.

Switching the data.
!
Implementing the SNMP protocol agent, command line management, program and data
loading, alarm and diagnosis.
!
Providing the GPON uplink port, and the GE/FE optical uplink/subtending ports.
!
Providing the serial port and the network port to facilitate maintenance through a
maintenance terminal or the EMS.
