Caution:
You should first connect the grounding cable before powering on the switch.
3.2.3 Redundant Power Input (Optional)
Caution:
The redundant power cord is not hot-swappable.
I. Redundant power
To make S3000-EI Series Switches more reliable, we provide redundant power
module. The module has a (2.5v/3.3v/12v) DC external interface, which is connected
to Huawei RPS (Redundant Power System) through DC power cord. The RPS is an
external AC-DC or DC-DC single power switching system.
The following figure illustrates the input socket of the redundant power module of
S3000-EI Series Switches.

II. Connecting redundant power cord
Step 1: Make sure the switch has been powered off and the RPS DC output has been
turned off.
Step 2: Plug one end of the DC power cord of RPS into the redundant power socket
on the rear panel of the switch and the other end into the DC output socket of RPS.
Step 3: Turn on the switch power and RPS DC output.
Step 4: Check if the state indicator in RPS panel OK is on. On means RPS is working
normally. Check if the RUN indicator in the switch panel is blinking. Blinking means
the redundant power input of the switch has been correctly connected.
