Changing an Operating System Password

Changing an Operating System Password

This topic describes how to change the root user password to ensure the system
security.

Step 1



The default IP address is

192.168.0.100

and the default password is

HuaWei123



You can log in using the SSH protocol and a remote login tool.

Step 2

Run the following command to change the operating system password.

passwd root

Enter the new password as prompted. The following information is displayed:

Changing password for root
New password:
Retype password:
Password for root changed by root

Step 3

Exit the operating system.
