Configuring the network for Fibre Channel systems
Prerequisites
The IP addresses for the two storage controllers should be on the same network.
Procedure
1.
Select the type of bond to be used:
• The default,
Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB)
, is the recommended type in most cases.
• If using
Active Passive
, the first interface discovered is the active interface.
• The third option is the
802.3ad
bond.
2.
For each controller, enter the following information:
•
Bond IP address
—Enter the single static IP address that you designated for the bond.
•
Subnet Mask
—Enter the subnet mask.
Configuring the network for iSCSI systems
Configure the network configuration on the storage system to what will be used when the system is in
production. The network configuration on a scaled-out iSCSI-only system cannot be changed to a
nonroutable destination (one that is unreachable at the time of configuration).
IMPORTANT:
Do not configure iSCSI bonds manually. Use this section of the wizard to complete the
configuration.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that the storage system be configured with the network
configuration that will be used when the system is in production. The network configuration on a scaled-
