3 Troubleshooting Your PC
Configuring Your Network Connection
Controlling the Remote Program Load
The HP Enhanced PCI Ethernet interface has the ability to power up
the PC, depending on the network connector you use.
NOTE
Information about which network connector is required for either
Remote Power On or Remote Wakeup can be found both in the online
information that came preloaded with your PC, and in "Connecting to a
Network", on page 4.
With the 10BT connector, you can:
•
Use the Remote-Wake mode, which allows the PC to resume (or
Wake-Up) normal functioning when it is in SLEEP (SUSPEND)
mode.
•
Use the Remote-Power mode, which allows the PC to start when it is
switched off.
With the 10BT/100BT connector you can only implement the “Remote-
Wake” mode.
To enable the Remote-Wake mode:
1
Use the
or
key to select the
Power
menu (refer to "Power
Menu Items", in the HP
Setup
program).
2
Press
to highlight the line
Suspend Wakeup
and press
to select the submenu.
3
Highlight the line
Integrated Network
and press
or
to
change the setting to
[Enabled]
