Remove the server drive assemblies
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a No. 2 Phillips screwdriver available.
Procedure
1.
Release the drive SATA cables from the middle frame:
a.
Press and hold the release button on the SATA connectors, and then disconnect the cables from the
system board.
b.
Release the SATA cables from the middle frame cable tabs.

Remove the drive 2 assembly, and then remove the drive 1 assembly by performing the same procedure:
a.
Loosen the captive screws.
b.
To release the drive cage from the middle frame, pull the tab towards the front end of server, and then
lift the drive assembly from the system board.
c.
Disconnect the SATA-power Y-cable from the drive.
