Removable media drives
The two upper bays are half height bays that can accommodate a variety of removable media drives
including:
•
CD, DVD, CD-RW/DVD combo, DVD-RW drives
•
DAT 24i, 40i, 72i, Disk to Disk Backup Autoloaders (Internal/External) DAT 40x6, 72x6 drives
To install a removable media drive:
1.
Perform the pre-installation procedure.
2.
Do one of the following:
○
If you intend to replace an old media drive, proceed to step 3.
○
If you intend to install a new media drive in the empty second removable media drive bay,
proceed to step 4.
3.
Remove the media drive you intend to replace.
a.
Disconnect the power and data cables from the back of the installed drive (

).
b.
Pull and hold the release tab on the drive latch for the device you want to remove (

).
c.
Slide the device out of the drive bay (
3
).
