)into slot 1, if installing the PCI
Express x8 mezzanine option. Install the PCI Express x4 non-hot-plug
expansion boards into slots 1 and 2, if installing the PCI Express x4
mezzanine option.

Place expansion slot covers over any remaining empty slots, and close the
latches.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do
not operate the server unless all expansion slots have either an
expansion slot cover or an expansion board installed.

Replace the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page

).

Slide the server back into the rack.

Power up the server ("Powering up the server" on page

).
Installing non-hot-plug expansion boards
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards,
power down the server and remove all AC power cords before removing
or installing the expansion boards.
