Open the browser, either locally (on the host) or on the remote server.

The login screen for the System Management homepage opens.

Log in. The System Management homepage opens.

guration Utility
on the left side of the window. The ACU opens and identi

es the
controllers that are connected to the system. This process could take a minute or two.
Some ACU guidelines to consider:
•
Do not modify Array A off of the Smart Array controller, because it contains the storage server
operating system.
•
Spanning more than 14 disks with a RAID 5 volume is not recommended.
•
Designate spares for RAID sets to provide greater protection against failures.
•
RAID sets cannot span controllers.
•
A single array can contain multiple logical drives of varying RAID settings.
•
Extending and expanding arrays and logical drives is supported.
•
RAID migration is not supported.

HP Storage Manager
The HP Storage Manager supports the SATA RAID controller and SATA hard disk drives installed
on the storage server.
NOTE:
Not all SATA-based storage servers use hardware RAID with the HP Storage Manager.
