Running the Domain Validation utility
To run the ATTO SCSI Domain Validation tool:
1.
Launch the tool.
2.
Select the adapter
Channel
of the SCSI bus, as shown in
Figure 6
.

Select the tests to be run.

In
Fallback Scheme
, select the negotiation parameters. The SDV test starts with the highest values
and if a problem is detected, tests with the next lower set of values.
5.
Select the target devices to be tested. The test is performed between the initiator and each target
device selected.
6.
Press
Start
to start the test.
When the test is complete, a message panel displays. The panel shows the negotiated SCSI parameters
for each device. The left side of the screen shows the negotiated value after the test runs and the right
side shows the value before the test being run.
The
Changed?
column indicates whether the negotiated value changed as a result of the SCSI Domain
Validation tests. If the value did change, the connection between the initiator and the target device
may not have been optimized.
