Read Message
There are two means of reading messages listed on the current display. The first and sim-
plest, is to simply highlight it (using the arrow keys) and hit “RETURN”. This will display the
contents of the current message for you, after which you will be returned to the message list. The
other way to read a message (or several at a time) is to activate the menu bar, pull down the mes-
sage menu, and select the “READ” option. Once you select this option, you will be presented with
another menu of choices where you can pick to read 1) the
current
(highlighted) message, 2)
All tagged messages
(you can only choose this option if you have “tagged” one or
more messages - otherwise it will not allow you to select it), 3)
All messages
(will display
the contents of all the messages in the current folder - read or unread), or 4)
All the new
(unread) messages
in the current folder (again, this option will only be available if
there are new messages in the folder, otherwise it will automatically be skipped over and cannot
be selected).
You will notice from when you list your mail that messages which you have not yet read
appear with an arrow “NEW” or “URG” to the left of the message id. This presents an “eye-catch-
ing” notation to aid you in locating messages which you haven’t read. Once you have read a mes-
sage it still remains in your mailbox (until you issue the command to delete it or file it into another
folder.
