Before removing the card reader board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the bottom cover (see

Remove the smart card reader board:
NOTE:
Before you remove the smart card reader, make sure nothing (memory card or plastic insert) in
inserted in the reader.
1.
Disconnect the main system board cable from the card reader board (1).
2.
Disconnect the touchpad cable from the side of the card reader board (2).
3.
Pull the plastic tab on the side of the card reader board to disengage the board (3), use a thin tool to pry
up the side of board (near touchpad) (4), and then pull the board away from the side of the computer to
remove it from the clips built into the computer.
Reverse this procedure to install the card reader board.
