Remote syslog
Use this setting to enable or disable this feature. When enabled, messages of the selected
Severity
level or higher are sent to the configured syslog server. When disabled, a limited
number of these messages will be stored locally and can be viewed in the
Events
section of
the
System log
page.
Syslog server
Specify the IP address or DNS name of the remote log server.
Syslog port
The syslog process uses logical port 514 by default. It is recommended that you keep this
default. If you specify a different port number, ensure that the port number is not being used by
another protocol on your network and that your syslog server is also configured to use that
port.
Events
The
Events
section of the
System log
page shows real-time system events on the AP, such as
wireless clients associating with the AP and being authenticated. The log shows the date the
event occurred, its severity level, the software program or process that caused the event
message, and the message text.
You can select
Refresh
to display the most recent data from the AP, or
Clear All
to remove all
entries from the list.
Email alert
The Email alert feature allows the AP to automatically send email messages when an event at
or above the configured severity level occurs. To configure email alert settings, select
Tools
>
Email alert
.
General configuration
Email alert
