Rack options 7
WARNING:
Do not raise the rack more than necessary. Have someone watch as you raise
the rack and warn you if there is any excessive motion or tipping.
10.
Repeat the installation steps to install the remaining casters.
11.
Using a wrench, raise the rack by turning the caster jack screws clockwise, a little at a time, until the
rack is high enough to slide the pallet out from under the rack.
IMPORTANT:
Do not turn the jack screw on one caster more than four turns clockwise. Turn
the jack screw on all casters the same number of turns to extend the casters by the same
amount. Continue turning the jack screws until you reach the appropriate height.
12.
Slide the pallet out from underneath the rack and set aside.
13.
Lower the rack by turning the caster jack screws counterclockwise until the rack is as close to the
floor as possible but still high enough to clear any obstacles in the path to its final position.
Moving the seismic rack
WARNING:
To prevent personal injury and damage to the rack:
•
Have at least two people move the rack on a level floor. If the floor is uneven, use at least
four people.
•
When pushing the rack, push on the rack frame only. Do not push or pull on the doors.
•
Do not push on the sides of the rack. Push from the front or rear of the rack only.
•
Verify that the area where you intend to install the rack and the path to the area are clean
and that the floor surface is smooth.
To move the seismic rack:
1.
Verify that the eight leveling feet are set to the maximum height. The leveling feet are shipped from
the factory in the fully raised position but can be adjusted using a 5/16-inch Allen wrench.
2.
Roll the rack into position according to the floor plan drawings. For more information, see the
documentation that ships with the rack.
3.
Using an adjustable wrench, lower the rack by turning the caster jack screws counterclockwise until
the rack rests on the floor.
Removing the casters
