Aligning the Light Engine
Whenever the lamp light engine is removed from the unit or moved from its original position in the unit, the
engine’s optical alignment must be checked and readjusted using the following procedure.
1. Download the overscan pattern image from the website.
2. Copy the downloaded image to the Compact Flash card.
3. Open the on-screen menus, and select
Aspect
from the
Advanced Picture
menu.
4. Make sure the aspect ratio is set to
Studio
.
5. Insert the prepared Compact Flash card into the card reader slot on the front of the television.
6. Use the Photo Viewer feature to display the over scan pattern full screen.
In a correctly aligned picture, there should be no red border showing from the over scan pattern on any
side. If no red border is showing and the image meets the geometry aspects in steps 15 and 16, no further
adjustment is required.
7. Remove the back plate from the television, and notice the white serial input port under the antenna input
connector.
8. Connect the XRAY service cable
to this port, and then to the serial port on your laptop.
9. Start the XRAY
software.
10. Verify that the horizontal and vertical persistent offsets are set to zero.
11. Using the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1% border on the image, center the projected image on the screen using the persistent
electronic centering in XRAY in LED control/NVRAM.
12. Once centered, use the data manager DM_FLUSH of data manager flash screen in XRAY to make sure the
settings are written.
13. Disconnect the XRAY cable, then turn the television off and back on.
14. Make sure the overscan pattern is still centered.
