Using the Service Menu & Resetting the TV
Using the Service Menu
The service menu provides access to the total lamp hours and total system time. These values may be helpful in
servicing the television.
1. On the remote control, press
Menu
.
2. Use the arrow buttons to select the
Setup
menu, then press OK.
3. Use the arrow buttons to select
About
, then press OK.
4. Press

,
1
, then
2
, then
3
, and then Enter. (Each button in the sequence must be pressed immediately after
the button before it or the television will not recognize the entry code.)
The
Factory Service
screen displays.
5. Note and record the following:
•
Total system time — the total time the television has been plugged in.
Notes:
•
In this screen, using the Red and Green buttons on the remote control, you can run an ADC calibration
or reset the channel list. There is currently no reason to use either of these functions in the servicing of
this product.
•
The total lamp hours (the total time the television has been projecting images) and the lamp hours (the
hours that specific lamp has been projecting images) are available on the
User Service
screen. For
information on how to access this screen, refer to “Reassembly Notes” on page 40.
Resetting the Television
In situations where the television is not behaving as expected, you can reset the television by unplugging it or
using the power button. Resetting the television is one of the first steps in troubleshooting any problems.
Unplugging to Reset
1. Press the power button to turn off the television. Wait up to three minutes for the television to cool and the
fan to stop running.
2. Unplug the television from the AC outlet. Wait more than two minutes.
3. Plug in the television and press the power button to turn the television on again.
Using the Power Button to Reset
1. Press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds (until the LED flashes rapidly). Release the
power button. The television will turn off.
2. Wait more than two minutes.
3. Press the power button to turn the television on again.
