When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective
system board and installed on the replacement system board:

Memory module (see
Memory module on page 31
)

WLAN module (see
WLAN module on page 41
)
Remove the system board and system board frame:

Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you.

Remove the two Torx T8M2.5×9.0 screws that secure the system board frame to the base enclosure.

Turn the computer right-side up, with the front toward you.

Remove the five Torx T8M2.5×6.0 screws

that secure the system board frame to the base
enclosure.

Disconnect the USB board cable
(2)
and audio board cable
(3)
from the system board.

Position the base enclosure with the rear toward you.

.
Flex the base enclosure
(1)
above the USB connector until the connector is clear.

.
Use the optical drive connector
(2)
to release the system board frame and system board from the
base enclosure.
