Chapter 6
CD-ROM Drive and
PremierSound Audio System
The 16X or 24X Max CD-ROM drive (IDE) installed in the workstation is a
random access, read-only storage device capable of retrieving data from a
removable compact disc.
Using the Slot-Load CD-ROM Drive
1. Turn on the workstation, if it is not already on.
2. Hold the compact disc by the edges, label side up, being careful not to
touch the flat surfaces of the disc, and insert it straight into the slot.
Discs inserted at an angle may not be accepted.
The drive performs a diagnostic check and automatically begins reading
the table of contents (TOC). The busy indicator turns amber while the
drive reads the TOC.
