If you install a Generation 4 module in an MDS 9509 or MDS 9506 switch and perform a full switch reload following the
installation of NX-OS Release 5.2(1), then you cannot nondisruptively download from NX-OS Release 5.2(1) to NX-OS
5.0(x).

A downgrade from NX-OS Release 5.2(1) disrupts and stops all FCoE traffic because FCoE requires Cisco NX-OS Release
5.2(1).
All 4.2(x) and 4.1(x)

Downgrade to any NX-OS Release 5.0(x) and then downgrade to NX-OS
Release 4.2(x) or 4.1(x)

All 3.3(x) releases
Downgrade to NX-OS Release 4.2(x) or Release 4.1(x) first, and then
downgrade to SAN-OS Release 3.3(x).

Downgrade to NX-OS Release 4.2(x) or Release 4.1(x) first, then downgrade
to SAN-OS Release 3.3(x), then downgrade to SAN-OS to Release 2.1(2b),
then to Release 1.3(4a), and then downgrade to your SAN-OS 1.x release.
