4. Error Messages
CA UTIONS
The HP 70301A T rac king Generator mo dule con tains comp onen ts and
assem blies that electrostatic disc harge (ESD) can damage. Service the mo dule
only at a static-safe w ork station. Refer to Chapter 1 for lists of precautions
and static-safe accessories and for a w ork-station description.
The HP 70301A T rac king Generator mo dule con tains b oth metric and inc h
hardw are. Refer to Chapter 7 for iden tication of hardw are t yp e.
T o assure prop er electrical connection and no connector damage, all APC 3.5
and SMA connectors m ust b e torqued v e to eigh t inc h-p ounds. Do not
exceed eigh t inc h-p ounds.
This section lists sp ectrum-analyzer error messages generated b y an HP 70301A. The
messages are in functional categories, eac h with its o wn n um b er series. In teraction and
dep endencies can result in a single problem causing m ultiple errors. Y ou should in v estigate
errors in their order of rep orting. Refer to the system-master installation and v erication
man ual for a complete list of all system error messages.

T rac king Generator has no op erator repairs or adjustmen ts. Refer repairs to qualied
tec hnical p ersonnel.
