Changing to a different type of gas
The changeover is only allowed to be carried
out by a recognised specialist or Hoval cus-
tomer service.
After changing to a different type of gas, the
adjusting device must be sealed.
5.9.1 Changing from natural gas H to natural gas L
If you change over to a natural gas with a low calorific
value, it will be necessary to check and if necessary cor-
rect the CO
2
(O
2
) value (see point 5.8 Setting the gas
quantity).
5.9.2 Changing from natural gas
to liquid gas
§
The local requirements for operation of a boil-
er with liquid gas must be complied with.
VKF
DVGW
ÖVGW
Changing over to liquefied gas is only possi
-
ble with a conversion kit.
NOTICE
Set the fuel type correctly on the measuring
instrument.
The conversion kit includes:
•
2 yellow «Change of set gas type: liquid gas» stickers
• 1 sticker with the performance data for propane liquid
gas type
• Gas pressure monitor
•
«Notes» package insert
Removing the natural gas pressure monitor
1.
For a boiler which is already connected:
- Close the gas valve.
-
Set the blocking switch to «0» and disconnect the
heat generator from the mains (e.g. main switch,
fuse).
2. Remove the boiler cover.
3.
Remove the natural gas pressure monitor.
Installing the liquefied gas pressure monitor
NOTICE
Make sure that the liquefied gas line is thor
-
oughly vented. Residual air in the liquefied
gas line can have a highly negative influence
on the flue gas values.
1.
Install the liquefied gas pressure monitor.
-
AMP connector at position 1 and 3.
2.
Stick the yellow «Change of set gas type: liquid gas»
stickers to the following places:
- A sticker on the gas valve
- A sticker on the type plate
3.
Attach sticker with the performance data for propane
liquid gas on the type plate (cover performance data
of the type plate, see «Notes» package insert).
4. For a boiler which is already connected:
- Open the gas cock.
- Energise the heat generator (e.g.. main switch, fuse)
and set blocking switch to «I».
5. Set the blower speeds according to the list of para-
meters to liquefied gas (see chapter 6.10).
!
DANGER
Danger of explosion due to leaking gas con-
nection.
• Install a gas counter and gas pressure reg-
ulator in the gas supply line.
• Following installation of the boiler, check
the gas connection for leaks.
6. Set CO
2
(O
2
) content (for the procedure, see chapter
-
Setting value:
CO
2
= 9.9 - 10.2 (O
2
= 5.9 - 5.5) % by vol. (dry)
7. Install the boiler cover.
5.10 Handover to the operator
The manufacturer of the unit is responsible
for providing operating instructions for the
complete system.
The following points must be carried out on the handover
to the owner:
• Instructions for operation, maintenance and safety
equipment of the machine.
• Handover all instructions and documents.
• Inform the owner that these instructions must always be
kept with the plant.
•
Written confirmation of the instruction.
• The handover report is on the last page of the docu-
ment.
