12.1 Rotors
Different rotors are available for the various fertilisers in powder or granulate form.
The selection of individual rotors for various applications, working widths and deliv-
ery volumes is described in the drill controls instructions.
The cell rotors are arranged according to their delivery rate per revolution.
NOTE
Ø
Ensure absolute leak tightness of components with all work activities on the
metering unit. Leaks lead to metering errors.
Ø
The contact surfaces must be sealed when installing the metering unit.
The housing must not be warped when bolting it.
12.1.1 Rotors for double fall sluices
On machines with double fall sluice and two seed boxes a rotor design with sym-
metric graduation must be used when using a split rotor.
Otherwise the seed is unevenly distributed to the two halves.
12.1.2 Rotor change
After choosing a rotor from the table it must be installed in the metering unit.
Ø
Machines with pressure hopper: Empty the hopper before changing the rotor.
Ø
Unscrew the side cover.
Ø
Pull out the rotor together with the drive shaft:
Ø
Remove lock washer and washer.
Ø
Pull out the drive shaft and install it in the new rotor.
The drive shaft requires axial clearance in the rotor for self-cleaning of the rotor in
the metering housing.
