Checks
NOTE
¾
Check the placing quality when beginning to
work (after a few metres of drilling) and with
larger fields also in between on all coulters:
•
Drilling depth
•
Longitudinal distribution of the seed
•
Transverse distribution of the seed
The working quality essentially depends on the
adjustments and checks made prior to and dur-
ing use, as well as on regular care and mainte-
nance of the machine.
¾
Carry out all maintenance tasks and adjust-
ments before starting to work.
Machine
¾
Has the machine been hitched up correctly
and are the coupling devices locked?
¾
Have the hydraulic lines been correctly con-
nected?
¾
Has the machine been levelled in working
position and the drilling depth correctly ad-
justed?
Cultivation tools
¾
Are coulters, other cultivation tools and op-
tional equipment still in a serviceable state?
¾
Do the coulters have sufficient pretension and
do they all rotate freely?
¾
Are the drill shoes still in good condition and
correctly adjusted?
Pneumatic system
¾
Do the seed hoses not sag and are they free
of water and deposits?
¾
Are all air lines between fan and coulters leak
tight and firmly connected?
¾
Does air flow uniformly out of all coulters?
¾
Has the air volume been set correctly on the
fan? Does the seed bounce out of the seed
furrow, or remain in the pipes and cause
blockage?
¾
Is the air separator on the head free of block-
age and deposits?
¾
Are the solenoid valves installed in the correct
seed pipes for the tram lines, has the tramline
rhythm been set and do the valves close?
Fan
¾
Is the hydraulic fan connected to a pressure-
free return flow?
¾
Are fan wheel and intake grille clean?
¾
Is the fan wheel tightly mounted on the shaft?
¾
Are fan speed and drive pressure not ex-
ceeded?
Metering unit
¾
Has the correct rotor been installed?
¾
Have the sealing lips been adjusted and are
they still serviceable?
¾
In case of small seed, has the cleaning brush
been installed and is it in order?
¾
Is the correct seed quantity being placed,
especially in the case of small seed?
¾
In the case of large seed, has the scraper
been installed?
¾
Are all connections, clearing valve and hopper
tightly closed?
¾
Is seed coming out of all coulters?
¾
Is seed bridging forming in the hopper (par-
ticularly with husky seed)?
