Use in the field
NOTE
Please note:
¾
To control the seed refer to the operating
instructions for the drill controls.
¾
The machine must be in horizontal position
when used in the field.
¾
Do not drive backwards with the machine
lowered.
The components have only been designed for
forward travel in the field and may be damaged
when reversing.
¾
If necessary unfold the machine completely,
see
Unfolding.
Coulter pressure
The coulter pressure can be adjusted on the
hand wheel valve.
1
2
1 Coulter pressure valve
2 Pressure gauge for coulter pressure
¾
Change the pressure with the hand wheel. To
make the adjustment, increase the pressure
until the depth guide rollers rest on the ground
(40-110 bar).
¾
Lock the setting with wing nuts.
Preload pressure
The lateral wings are exposed to the set pre-
loading pressure during sowing to relieve the
frame centre section and to better distribute
the weight of the machine. The pressure for the
preload of the wings builds up when lowering
the coulter and may not be greater than 70 bar.
Working speed
The working speed depends on the field condi
-
tions (soil type, crop residues etc.), seed, seed
quantity, coulters and other factors.
NOTE
¾
Operate somewhat slower under difficult
conditions.
Headland
¾
Reduce the rotational speed just before lifting
out the machine so that the fan output does
not drop too much and causes the hoses to
block.
¾
Lift out the machine during travel.
¾
After turning on the headland position the
machine approx. 2-5 m in front of the seedbed
with appropriate fan speed. The seed requires
some time to flow from the metering unit to
the coulters.
NOTE
When drilling reduce the seed just before lifting
out the machine.
Otherwise the fan output would be excessively
reduced and the hoses might get blocked.
