Preventative Maintenance
A quick, simple walk-around of the entire machine is highly encouraged before operation of the machine
each time of intended use. Inspect all moving and wear items such as cultivating discs, shank trips, tines
and tips, hub bearings, and rolling baskets and bearings, harrows, leveling discs, etc.
Shank tips should be tight to the hub. Also check that there are no cracked or broken tips, tines, or discs.
If so, replace immediately. In the sense of the tines being a wear type item, it is recommended to replace
them once they have worn considerably and are noticeably requiring more depth control of the machine
for proper soil cultivation.
Disc hubs are oil filled as mentioned earlier in this manual and require no maintenance unless there is
noticeable oil seepage from the housing. If so, replace the hub or repair the failed seal and fill the hub
with the correct recommended oil (see notes in Settings/Operation Section).
Rolling Basket bearings require no maintenance either. These are non-greaseable bearings. A simple
visual inspection will determine any further action necessary for bearing replacement if needed.
