Installation requirements
It is recommended to install the Air Quality and
Noise Smart Spot devices on walls, streetlights
or masts at between 2.5 and 4 meters above
the ground in order to make it difficult for
passersby to access these devices. The
recommended installation height is between 3
and 3.5 meter, which will allow an appropriate
monitoring of the different environmental
parameters as well and at the same matches
with the high recommend for noise and air
quality standard installation.
The device is composed by two enclosures.
One of them is the Smart Spot Core Box while
the other one is the Air Quality Extension Box,
containing the Gas, Particulate Matter sensors
and also the Noise sensor.
Both enclosures are provided with an
installation kit suitable both for installation on
wall or pole.
Note that these enclosures will be united by
means of a communication cable which
provided of 35cm, 60cm or 100cm depending of
the installation type. If not specified, 100cm
cable will be provided by default to allow any
kind of installation.
The device includes different electronic circuits
that
are
sensitive
to
electromagnetic
interference. Therefore, in order to ensure
correct performance, it is essential that the
device is located far enough away from
possible sources of interference such as
electrical transformers or signal repeaters.
It should also avoid being placed next to
possible sources of pollution, such as industrial
chimneys or kitchen exhaust fumes.
Air quality sensors are designed to measure
global values. Placing them close to sources of
pollution could lead to high concentration
measurements that do not correspond to the
actual values in the environment.
