the body in the event of a fall?
– is there a potential swing fall hazard?
2.1.3 PROCEDURES
• must be written to deal with each
hazard and must include the following
considerations:
– selection of the proper approved
equipment
– instructions for proper use
– who will be authorized to use them
– a rescue/recovery procedure
– a review of all pertinent Government
regulations and standards (see table 1)
– proper care and storage
2.1.4 TRAINING
• must cover proper use, care, limitations
and maintenance of equipment
• defines who is responsible for overall
supervision and training
• must cover all procedures and ensure
understanding
2.1.5 INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE
• keep records of observations and
certifications
• follow manufacturers guidelines
• tag and remove from service any
questionable equipment
2.1.6 REVIEW/EVALUATE
• with supervisors and workers
• any changes required?
• monitor the work area
• have task requirements changed?
• is the program effective and efficient?
