IK2 compatibility mode
9.3.6.1
IK2 switching devices
Possibility of operating an IK2 operating unit or an IK2 block lock.
In this operating mode, only one IK2 operating unit or one IK2 block lock can be connected.
The functions of the IK3 evaluation unit in this mode are identical with the functions of the IK2
evaluation unit 022160.20.
- IK1 components can no longer be used
- Glass breakage sensor and release contact in OR function (series connection)
- Bolt switching contact without 12k1.
A special output at ST19 is available for supplying the voltage of the operating unit/BL, that is short
circuit-proof and current-limited (max. 200 mA).
The signals at ST13 are "Buzzer /Disarmed /Alarm" and at ST20 "Data /Release".

Reader at the RS-485 bus
In the IK2 compatibility mode, 1 x IK3 reader or a reader mentioned in Point 8.4.2 (exept Traffic-
point) can be operated at the RS-485 bus as an alternative to IK2 switching devices.
Required firmware version for the EU: from V03.xx
- Changing data transmission mode is not possible
- Control functions are not possible
Operation is as described in the operating manual of the reader.
This mode is activated by connecting the output "IK2 release” with the input "Presence control” (see the
following Connection diagram).
Connection is checked after a reset and if it exists, an RS-485 reader us used instead of an IK2.
This mode can be altered at all times by disconnecting.
