Replica of a locking system
As the door code unit enables saving of up to 4 different codes, a structure (similar to a locking
system) can be constructed with up to four hierarchical levels in buildings where a larger number of
these units are to be installed.
Nine doors are to be administered in the following organisation structure:
- 1 Managing Director,
- 2 Area Managers,
- 4 Department Managers and
- 8 Employees.
None of the 15 persons involved should be forced to remember more than
code.
The organisation structure is illustrated in the following table. Differential options in such a system
are naturally limited and can only be compared conditionally with those of a locking system wich can
be constructed with modern locking cylinder systems.
However, a system of this nature has an advantage over a "real" locking system, namely that a key
cannot be lost, an event which would necessitate replacement of every locking cylinder.
It is also only necessary to change the respective code if an employee is transfered or leaves the
organisation. This code change does not affect any of the other persons involved.
One simply has to view the table on the respective door from top to bottom to determine the codes
assigned to each door.
In the example, only code A is programmed on door 1, with only codes A, B, D and H being program-
med on door 2, and codes A, B, D, and I on door 3, etc.
This code allocation system means that only one code is required for each person.
The code defined as the main code can be determined individually for each door.
