BATTERY
(Refer to the maintenance precautions on
page 57).
It is not necessary to check battery
electrolyte level or add distilled water
because the maintenance-free battery is
sealed. If any loss of electrolyte is
experienced or if your battery seems to be
weak, causing slow starting or other
electrical troubles, see your authorized
Honda dealer.
CAUTION:
Do not attempt to remove the sealing
caps from the cells - you may damage
the battery.
When the motorcycle is to be stored for
an extended period of time, remove the
battery from the motorcycle and charge
it fully. Then store it in a cool, dry
place. If the battery is to be left in the
motorcycle, disconnect the negative
cable from the battery terminal.
⚠
WARNING

The battery gives off explosive gases;
keep sparks, flames, and cigarettes
away. Provide adequate ventilation
when charging or using the battery in
an enclosed space.
*
The battery contains sulfuric acid
(electrolyte). Contact with skin or eyes
may cause severe burns. Wear
protective clothing and a face shield.
If electrolyte gets on your skin, flush
with water.
If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush
with water for at least 15 minutes and
call a physician immediately.
*
Electrolyte is poisonous.
If swallowed, drink large quantities of
water or milk and follow with milk of
magnesia or vegetable oil and call a
physician.
