Check the freeplay and adjust if needed. Press
the throttle to make sure it moves smoothly
without sticking, and snaps shut automatically
when it is released, in all steering positions

Check these items after you get on the ATV:
Check that all cargo is secure.
Make sure you do not exceed the load limits
(page
).
If you are carrying cargo, also check the following:
Make sure the headlight, brakelight and
taillight are working properly.
Check the cable housings for wear. Check the
fittings for looseness. Replace or tighten as
needed.
Squeeze the front and rear brake levers and
step on the rear brake pedal to check that the
controls operate normally. Press down on the
rear brake pedal several times, then check for
proper brake lever freeplay (page
). Make
sure there is no brake fluid leakage.
Check the freeplay and adjust if needed
(page
). Make sure the lever operates
smoothly without sticking.
