Valve Clearance
4. Remove the camshaft holder bolts (4) and
camshaft holders (5).
Loosen the camshaft holder bolts in a criss-cross
pattern in 2 or 3 steps.
5. Remove the camshaft (6), and then attach a
piece of wire to the cam chain to prevent it
from falling into the crankcase.
Be careful not let the set rings of the camshaft
holders fall into the crankcase.

6. Remove the valve lifters (7).
Position the removed intake valve lifters and
shims to indicate their location such as intake or
exhaust, right or left.
Do not let the valve lifters and shims fall into the
crankcase.
