4. Inspect the inflator to determine if it manufactured by Takata. Look just to the left of the three air bag mounting nuts
and compare it against the three images. Also, write the serial number on the RO. Make sure you give your
warranty clerk the RO that includes the serial number. For the warranty claim to be paid, it must be included in the
warranty claim
.

Takata inflator
– go to REPAIR PROCEDURE. The Takata inflators have a metal casing and there is only one
electrical connector on the left side.

Not Takata inflator
- If the inflator has plastic end caps, it is OK. Reassemble the vehicle in the reverse order
of removal.
•
Not Takata inflator
– If the inflator has two electrical connectors visible, it is OK. Reassemble the vehicle in the
reverse order of removal.
