7. OPERATION
7.1 BEFORE THE FIRST USE
ATTENTION!
The iron may give off some smoke when you use it for the first
time. This is normal and does not mean that the iron is damaged. The iron sho-
uld be placed in a well-ventilated room at that time. The iron will stop emitting
smoke after a short while. In the event the smoke does not cease, the iron should
be unplugged immediately.
Before first use, remove the film / sticker (if present) from the iron soleplate.
ATTENTION! Before you start ironing any article of clothing or other fabric,
check its laundry care label for the required ironing temperature.
ATTENTION! If the laundry care label contains no information on ironing, but
you know the type of fabric, follow the information in the table below. The
information provided in the Table (see Section 7.3) applies to the base fabric
and does not pertain to any finishes, sheen etc.
Textiles with finishing (sheen, wrinkle reduction etc.) are best ironed at slightly
lower temperatures.
ATTENTION! First, sort the fabrics by ironing temperature: wool with wool,
cotton with cotton etc. The iron heats up faster than it cools down. For that
reason start with fabrics that require the lowest ironing temperature, such as
synthetics. Then move to items that require higher temperatures.
