The high-pressure system
All high pressure hoses, especially the fire hose, are wearing parts with limited lifetime.
Depending on the severity of working conditions, replace them at appropriate intervals,
even with no visible defects. At the latest, they must be replaced when the following
signs of wear and tear are noticed:
Damage by kinks, abrasion, crushings or sharp-edged objects.
Crack formation at the outer sheath by aging, exposure to light, chemicals, etc.
Leaks in hoses or their screw connections.
All kinds of other damage.
ATTENTION
Only use approved high-pressure hoses of same type for
replacement. They are specific adapted to operating
pressure, flow rate and temperature.
Leaks at the fittings of high-pressure tubes can be occur in
the course of time by vibrations. They are often fixable by
tightening the union nuts.
Only qualified personnel with proper tools and replacement
parts may perform repairs at the high-pressure system.
