Maintenance and service
The following sections provide necessary information for proper maintenance and care in
accordance with conditions of work and operation hours.
11.1
Safety during maintenance and repair
Please read and follow the operating instructions for MFU and engine carefully.
Always wear protective goggles and gloves when handling gasoline or foam agent.
These fluids can cause skin irritation and allergies. Rinse immediately with plenty of
clean water after contact with eyes or mouth.
Be careful, not to spill gasoline or foam agent. Clean affected parts of the MFU or
vehicle immediately to avoid paint and surface damage.
Attach and close all protective covers before recommissioning.
Work at the high-pressure system (pump, hoses and fittings) only if the system is
pressure free. Turn the ignition off and actuate the jet gun, to relieve residual
pressure. Never tighten leaky fittings while the engine is running !
Repairs of the electrical system by qualified personnel only.
Be careful when handling fuel; gasoline is highly flammable. No open flames or
burning cigarettes when refueling the engine.
